Ironically, Shindler "saved Jews" by borrowing slave labor from camps, and the slaves in his factories were not bombed by the Allies, as all camps were, cutting them off from supplies and drinking water, so more of them survived.
Schindler really built himself up in the fictional movie. After his death, his wife spoke out about how it was her idea to use slave labor and that he was a drunkard/womanizer who died broke.
His high living was his downfall. His factory initially worked with enamel. He earned decent profit from it. As the war continued on, non-war essential factories were ordered to be shut down.
His slave labor were protected from the typhus epidemics at Plaszow because they were isolated at a subcamp. Though three hundred of his laborers were sent to Auschwitz for labor.
Schindler didn't want to stop his rich lifestyle so he moved his factory to Czech and converted it to an ammo factory. The laborers were horrible because all they knew was enameling. Schindler didn't sell a single shell and went bankrupt.
He lost a lot of money not because he wanted to save the slave labor from any gassing or the likes, as he had no wartime knowledge about anything of the sorts, but because he had "champagne taste and a kool-aid budget."
His buddy, Amon Goth, was taken out of Plaszow due to stealing food from the prisoners, his unauthorized use of corporal punishment as well as for allowing prisoners near confidential information. He was to be tried in 1945 by the SS but he was diagnosed with a mental illness. So they stuck him into a psyche ward until the end of the war.
In the end, the two of them were pretty shitty people.

There was no gassing.
Americans also stole the food from concentrations camps for German civilians, and also starved Germany from 1945 to 1948...
